Pres. Obama Should Choose A Different VP

I have said it before I will say it again: President Obama should switch out Biden, and I know just who for-> ELIZABETH WARREN. I know people will say this is against all political wisdom to switch Vice Presidents for the second term of a presidency, we love Joe, etc.; but Biden can go the State Department. Obama should switch for a couple of reasons; first, if he does not switch out Biden he may not inspire enough people to get involved in this election. I believe the republicans will not be able to resist the temptation of putting a Latino on the ticket, (or possibly a Latina) –just as they could not resist putting up a female in 2008—this will lead to instability of the Latino vote. Republicans have been quietly passing voter restriction laws to suppress the vote, organizations are feeling anxious about voter registration drives –the only way to fight back is with massive registration and high voter turn-out; Democrats need a way to galvanize the base and encourage self –registration. The President needs to make up for his potential Latino loss by securing another demographic, I think the current “war on women” by republicans is helping but it may not be enough, Warren just might be–she should be properly vetted of course.

Another reason is Democrats need to present some sort of continuity and strong leadership post Obama. I don’t think Biden would be a viable candidate; he couldn’t do it on his own before I don’t think he is going to do it in 2016. Many say, (and I heard a particular idiot on the republican side throw out today) that Hillary Clinton should run in 2016, I believe that would be a mistake, and if the Republicans are for it – can’t be such a great idea. Hillary would be polarizing, America is going through too many forward changes to reach for the past; this is wrong for republicans as well as democrats. I don’t want to see the country go back to the eras of Reagan or Bush, I appreciate the Clintons but Hillary is history. Elizabeth Warren is the only person I see right now that can represent the future and is competent enough take the baton from Obama and win.

Elizabeth Warren is knowledgeable, she has courage and with four years as VP to prepare, she will be ready to become the first Female President. Elizabeth is tough enough to go after Scott Brown’s seat, she allowed Obama to adopt a more populist argument, she has a great narrative and she speaks the language of the working class. I think Ms. Warren can beat anyone the republicans put up in a debate, I am not sure if she knows foreign policy but damn it she can learn. Also, selecting Elizabeth Warren would be a clear indicator that Obama stands with the 99%.

I think if anyone can get away with a switch, Obama can and if he does not switch out his Vice President, it could be defeat. It might have been too cliché in 2008 to put a female on the ticket, but I think the time is right for such a move. –This is another change moment, I may get ignored but I wouldn’t mind seeing Obama/Warren2012

The World Stands With America, Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

In these recent days things have gotten very divisive and we see just how hard the path to change is, but Obama is clear that he is not going to quit on the American people.  No matter how difficult things are at home, Obama has already brought change to the world, he has changed the tone of aggression to one of peace and equality.   With his progress with Korea, Russia and Iran we see the possible results when people are trying to work with him and not just stalling for political purposes. He treats other leaders with dignity and respects the sovereignty of nations.  For all who question why Obama won they just need to listen to the reasons given by the committee.  We are all very proud of President Barack Obama. Americas standing in the world has improved according to country rankings of most admired nation.

The perception of america abroad is not the same since Obama has been elected.  He is a symbol of peace, hope, and change.  We must continue on the path of reform, the world is watching.  According to the Nobel Prize Committee:

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama’s initiative, the United States is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened

Crowley Lies In Police Report, Lucia’s Apology–Beer Summit pt2

This is the official police report filed by Officer Crowley after he arrested Professor Gates. His account of what happens when he arrived on the scene does not coincide with the eye witness who called 911. This is the first page of the report but check out what Officer Crowley wrote happened when he ran into Lucia Whalen outside Professor Gates house.

Below is what Lucia Whalen said when she spoke out in her press conference yesterday. At 7:12 on the tape Lucia tells her version of what happened when Officer Crowley arrived. There is a big discrepancy. Officer Crowley gives a detailed account of the conversation that he said he had with Ms. Whalen, a conversation she states never took place. Do we still think Crowley is telling the truth in his version of how things went down with the professor? If he lied about the conversation he had with Ms. Whalen why should we believe anything else he says.

According to Gates in his television interview and his police report he states that he was told by Ms. Whalen at the scene that two black males were breaking into the house. I think Mr. Crowley’s police report answers the question whether race played a role in the way the professor was treated. It seems Officer Crowley was comfortable with the prospect of black criminals but ran into a black professor instead. Again I return to the fact that this officer led sensitivity trainings, but wrote a false police report accusing “blacks” as being the perpetrator.

Lucia Whalen deserves the beers not Officer Crowley; he should get disciplinary action for filing a false police report. Why have the media fail to point out the inaccuracy of the police report, why are the police above reproach? Crowley sullied Whalen’s name by saying she describe the suspects as “blacks with backpacks”. Obama was bullied by Crowley and Forced into this beer meeting for saying the police behaved stupidly. Obama had to bow to the Force. If Crowley is not going to apologize to Professor Gates he should at least publicly apologize to Lucia Whalen. If Obama couldn’t get a pass why should Mr. Crowley, he needs to be sent back to sensitivity training. We cannot allow our police to get away with the offenses that Officer Crowley has just committed, if we do then we begin to teeter on becoming a police state. I think it is worth talking about, what do you think?

I just want to say Big Ups to Professor Gates for choosing Red Stripe Beer for the beer summit. (check my post: “traveling to Negril”)
