Three things the IRK me: Myanmar, West Virginia, and Hillary Clinton

The news lately have been primarily dominated by the coverage and outrage at the fact that Myanmar wont let relief aide into the country to help those affected by the recent cyclone. I am so tired of hearing about how they government of Myanmar is rejecting aide I am sorry for the people of Myanmar and I hope they get all the help they need, but Myanmar is a sovereign nation and can do as they see fit for their own people, we have to respect that. Most of all we need to get off our high horse. What about Katrina. How long did it take to get aide to those people? How long did it take to get the people out of the superdome? What was the attitude of our government towards the victims of Katrina? Didn’t we have deaths and hunger and abandonment in those days and weeks after Katrina? It bothers me how quickly people forget that not so long ago we had a serious tragedy in this country in the form of Katrina, and the government abandoned the people in one of our greatest cities. I would hate to say it was because of color, because there are many in the gulf region, black and white that still have not gotten relief, but in those crucial days when people were struggling for survival it was a majority of African Americans. We have no right to criticize another country about the way they are handling a disaster since we didn’t do so well when we were challenged in the same way.
Why are people acting like the voters of West Virginia are all that matters in this country. Do the media think that everyone in the country except WV is complete idiots? We know that the voters of WV are basing their votes on misinformation. How about the fact that 81% of the voters for Hillary Clinton thought race was an important factor? Why are we acting like there aren’t still prejudice people in this country. Any white person was going to beat Obama in West Virginia. Asking why Obama couldn’t win WV is insulting and asking a black man why he cant win the white racist vote is ridiculous. Millions of working class people voted for Obama if you consider all the votes he received in Wisconsin, Virginia, Iowa, Washington, Mississippi, Missouri, Illinois, and South Carolina. Even in the states where he did not win he racked up millions of working class votes. WV to me is like the child who has not fully developing, the statistics on this state are very disturbing, this state has been neglected by the government and the people have been taken advantage of by their local politicians. There is much work to be done in West Virginia in building that economy so that people can actually feel like they matter; we may not win West Virginia. Unfortunately there is a part of society that can be convinced to vote against their interest. I think that is sad for the people of West Virginia and those who manipulate this segment of the constituency. Remember they voted for every president since forever that means that they voted for Bush, in 2000 and 2004. Remember that people who voted for Bush are part of the reason why this country is in the position it’s in.
West Virginia is not all of America. What the pendants and the Clinton campaign are failing to realize is that America is going through a metamorphosis. We want change because we are changing. But what has been changing the most in this campaign is the Clinton position on what it takes to win. Now she is putting forward the claim that it takes 2209 delegates to win the democratic nominee. I think this is being combative, and makes it clear that she is willing to bring down the party in order to secure the nomination. She will divide the party by race, class, gender slicing and dicing, anything to make the argument she should be president. I think she wants it too much. I am disturbed that she feels she needs to continue this race in case something happens to Obama. What is she waiting for? She has already lost; 100% name recognition, the Clinton Machinery, a former First Lady, US Senator from one of the most popular and populous state, free media coverage for about two years and she could not secure the nomination, how is she the strongest candidate? I am tired of the media spinning the Clinton agenda to the public. Whatever she says makes the evening news. Why is she still being covered? There is no doubt that if these roles were reversed which is what was expected by the Clintons and the media Obama would have been forced to leave this race months ago, but yet the media continues to reverse the real story that a former first lady with all the credentials in the world couldn’t beat the little known senator from Illinois.
